soooo much.... buzzing around.. in mah BRAINZ!!!

Hey yall it's been a week, sorry for the not so frequent posting...

So basically I'm well. I AM WELL DAMNIT. Regardless of my emotardedness that has hit me hard core today.

I miss my kids yall, the ones I've lost. I know I am blessed, too blessed to stress, but I want my kids already. I know I have a plan too... but I want it done and overwith now. I want to be thina nd to just get the news! " You're pregnant, it's twins!" or something like that....

*Sigh*

Anyways, I'm emo, trying to get over it, it will happen.

Seriously yall I need wine, and possibly margaritas... and queso... Asking some friends who understand my pain ( And don't mind the outside world and people lol) to go to Baby A's with me, everyone is welcome, but it's going to be filled with cursing and drinking and fattening food and maybe not so much knitting...

Anyways, on to the important stuff!

I CONQUERED THE CIRCULAR NEEDLES!!!

lol then I promptly broke them.. *Sigh* w/e

Yall I'm not in the mood to post everything I'll try to upload pics later if sprint stops being such a fucking tard about my uploads and losing them all to the interwebs monster.

my recipe for success turkey day!!

So here's what I did!

I looked up Brine online,a nd found Alton Brown's Recipe, and thought to myself WTF? Why do I have to get ginger and shit? Whatevs I'm winging it!

So I used a LOT of water ( Filled a cooler with ice water heheheh)

1.5 cups kosher seasalt

2 cups packed darkbrown sugar

Thyme, Savory spices, Basil, and Cilantro

Mixed it all around in teh cooler

Added turkey

Let sit in there for 48 hours, putting in tray after tray of icecubes to keep it cold.

Then I took it out of the brine and put it onto the pan, I made the stuffing for inside the bird and put it in there, and then used a stick of butter to put in the cavity and the wingpits and thigh junctures.

Then I put it in the oven at 325 for 6 hours.

I took 12 cups of Brine boiled it down, (To cook the raw bird out of it lol) And used that liquid to baste the turkey every 30-45 minutes.

This led to a SUPER flavorful and juicy turkey :)

My team enjoyed it, Eugene raved about it, and I am extremely happy with how my very first ever turkey turned out! Can't wait to teach my kiddos how to cook cooking this without ever learning how was tough,a nd left me biting my nails worrying!

cooking!! and pictures of cooking!!!

So yeah I am going to post a Few blogs this weekend regarding my cooking adventures for this weeks lunches and dinners :)

So on the menu for this week is:
15 pound turkey
Dinner rolls
Stuffing
Turkey gravy
Potato soup
Taco salad (just cooking the soy meat up front :D)
And several mini cakes, I was just going to do it for prize winners, but I think I will do it for everyone :)

I need to clean the kitchen first, then start the turkey soaking, then peel the potatos, then make the taco meat and finally cook everything :) Awwwww yeah!

Edit: kitchen is now clean.
Turkey is brining in the cooler
Potatos are boiling on the stove
Oven has been cleaned thoroughly
Kitchen floor has been swept
And this hat is nearly done
I have decided to do the taco meat a little later :)

Ps: I know I know, I cheated and am using store bought dinner rolls and stuffing and gravy, but seriously yall, I am making soooo much food for the team Potluck, and for Eugene and I to eat this week that I just cannot face making the rolls and stuffing and gravy from scratch, I am making the cakes from.scratch though, and the hats are still homemade, so I'm still a homemaker right.... Right?!?!?! LOL! The fact that I am brining my turkey for over 48 hours before cooking it says yes :P
